DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM

A double major program is a program that allows a student who meets the success requirement and other conditions to simultaneously take courses from two separate diploma programs of our university and receive two separate diplomas.
The process for the double major program for our department`s undergraduate program is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions" published in the Official Gazette dated 24/04/2010 and numbered 27561. Double major applications to our department are evaluated and finalized in accordance with the aforementioned regulation and in accordance with the regulations made by our department based on this regulation (Horizontal-Vertical Transfer, DMP and Principles Determined by the Adaptation Committee).

In order for the Applications Made to the Double Major Program to be Accepted, the Applicant Student;
1. (If studying in a 4-year program), be at the beginning of the 3rd, 4th or 5th semester,
2. The general grade point average in the major diploma program must be at least 70 out of 100 and must be in the top 20% of the success ranking in the relevant class of the major diploma program (NOTE: Students whose general grade point average in the major diploma program is at least 70 out of 100 but is not in the 20% success segment can apply to the double major program if they have an ÖSYM score that is not less than the base score of the relevant year of the double major program),
3. Have successfully completed all courses taken in the major diploma program until the semester he/she applied,
4. Not have registered for another double major program.

Finalization of Applications Made to the Double Major Program
1. Evaluation is made from highest to lowest by taking the general grade point average into account. In case of equal general grade point averages, priority is given to the student with the higher ÖSYM placement score.

MINOR PROGRAM

Minor program: This refers to a program that allows students enrolled in a diploma program to receive a document (minor certificate) that does not replace a diploma by taking a limited number of courses on a specific subject within our university, provided that they meet the required conditions.
The process for the minor program for our department`s undergraduate program is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Majors, Minors and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers” published in the Official Gazette dated 24/4/2010 and numbered 27561. Accordingly, Çankırı Karatekin University can organize minor programs by determining the principles and application conditions with the proposal of the relevant boards of directors and the approval of their senates. Those who complete the minor programs are given only a certificate of achievement (minor certificate) in the field they study.

According to the regulation in question, the application and acceptance conditions for the minor program are summarized as follows:
a) Students can apply to the announced minor programs at the earliest at the beginning of the 3rd and at the latest at the beginning of the 6th semester of the major undergraduate program they are registered in.
b) In order for a student to apply for a minor program, they must have successfully completed all credit courses in the major program they are registered in until the semester they apply and their total weighted general grade point average at the time of application must be at least 65 out of 100.
c) In order to continue in the minor program, the student`s grade point average in the major program must be at least 60 out of 100.
d) The evaluation is made from highest to lowest by taking the general grade point average into account.
