Horizontal&Vertical Transition
HORIZONTAL TRANSFER
Horizontal transfer is the transfer of a student from one university to another or between equivalent diploma programs of the same level or equivalent diploma programs within the same university.
Horizontal transfers to our department`s undergraduate program are made in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" published in the Official Gazette dated 24/04/2010 and numbered 27561. Horizontal transfer applications to our department ((i) horizontal transfer between institutions, (ii) horizontal transfer within institutions and (iii) horizontal transfer to be made in accordance with Additional Article 1) are evaluated and finalized in accordance with the aforementioned regulation and in line with the arrangements made by our department based on this regulation (Horizontal-Vertical Transfer, DAP and Principles Determined by the Adaptation Committee).
Our department`s horizontal transfer principles are summarized below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For detailed information on the Horizontal Transfer process, please review the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Majors, Minors and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers".

Has the applicant student registered to higher education institutions in our country (or in the TRNC) or to higher education institutions abroad through central placement or the relevant year’s ÖSYS/YKS Score or special talent exam?
NOTE: Candidates who registered to other higher education institutions abroad that are not included in the ÖSYS/YKS Guide or who registered to a program that is not included in the Guide, even if the higher education institution is included in the Guide, cannot apply within the scope of ADDITIONAL ARTICLE 1. If the student wants to transfer with the ÖSYM score; did the diploma program that the student wants to transfer to (i.e. our department) accept students in the year that the student registered to the diploma program that he/she is currently studying?
NOTE: If the student was not accepted to the diploma program that the student wants to transfer to in the year that the student registered to the diploma program that he/she is currently studying, the application will not be accepted since the central placement base score of the diploma program has not been formed.

Evaluation;
WITH ÖSYM SCORE;
If the ÖSYM placement score (the score in the type of score required to enter our department) in the year that the student is placed in the program that he/she is registered for is equal to or higher than the placement score of your department in the same year, the student is ranked. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, the candidates as many as the quota are included in the main list, starting with the candidate with the highest ÖSYM score. If the number of students who are granted a right is high, the same number of substitute candidates are determined. In the evaluation of the applications, only the ÖSYM central placement scores of the year that the student was placed in the program that he/she is registered for will be taken into account, and no conditions such as success etc. will be sought.
WITH DGS SCORE;
If the student who applies with a DGS score has a DGS score equal to or higher than the DGS score of our department in the same year, the student will be ranked. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, the candidate with the highest DGS score will be included in the main list, starting with the candidate with the highest DGS score. The rest will be placed on the reserve list. In the evaluation of applications, only the DGS score of the year the student was placed in the program will be taken into account, and no conditions such as success etc. will be sought.

INTERINSTITUTIONAL HORIZONTAL TRANSITION PRINCIPLES
Preliminary Assessment
If the answer to each item below is “YES”, the application is accepted.
Is the student a 2nd or 3rd year student studying in a department with the same name as our department (or in a diploma program with at least 80% of the course content being the same as our department)?
Is the student’s general grade point average in the program they are registered in at least 60 out of 100? and/or is the student’s central placement score equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program they want to transfer to (i.e. your department) that year?
If the student wants to transfer to our department from open and distance education, is the student’s general grade point average in the program they are studying in 80 out of 100 or higher? or is the student’s central placement score equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program they want to transfer to (i.e. our department) that year?
If the student was an evening education diploma program student and then applied to a daytime diploma program, was he/she in the top 10% of his/her class in terms of success?
Assessment;
According to the Senate decision numbered 68570759/9, the ranking is made according to the CALCULATION RESULT BELOW.
40% of the candidate`s ÖSYS/YKS Score + 60% of the candidate`s 100-point General Academic Grade Point Average = Candidate`s Placement Score with Horizontal Transfer
The above calculation is primarily made for students who meet the general grade point average requirement.
Students who do not meet the GPA requirement but whose central placement score in the year they are registered is equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program they want to transfer to (i.e. our department) will be evaluated if there is a quota left after those who meet the GPA requirement are placed. Their evaluation is also made according to the result of the same calculation as above.
If the number of students who are granted a right is high, as many substitute candidates are determined as the main candidates.
INTERNAL HORIZONTAL TRANSITION PRINCIPLES
Preliminary Evaluation
If the answer to each item below is “YES”, the application is accepted.
Is the student an undergraduate student studying in a diploma program equivalent to our department and has passed to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th semester?
Is the central placement score received in the score type valid for the diploma program (i.e. our department) that the student wants to transfer to as of the year he/she takes the central exam equal to or higher than the lowest base score of the diploma programs of other universities in the country that are equivalent to the diploma program (i.e. our department) that the student wants to transfer to?
Evaluation
The ranking is made according to the ÖSYM placement score. In case there are additional candidates who meet the sufficient conditions, the same number of main and reserve candidates are determined.
VERTICAL TRANSFER
Vertical transfer is the transfer of a student studying in an associate degree program to an undergraduate diploma program.
The processes for vertical transfer applications to our department are currently carried out in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulation on the Continuation of Undergraduate Education of Graduates of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Programs”. In other words, students who want to be placed in our department through vertical transfer are placed by ÖSYM if they take the Vertical Transfer Exam and receive a sufficient score.
The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) determines which associate degree programs can be transferred to our department`s undergraduate program and is included in the guides published by the Student Selection and Placement Center. You can visit the link address for the list of Undergraduate Programs to Which Vertical Transfer Can Be Made According to Associate Degree Graduation Fields.
